Wallingford Photographic Club

When & Where & What

Please click here to see our new programme. We have talks on all aspects of photography, travel slide shows, competitions internally and with other clubs, and practical evenings, and we particularly want to encourage and assist new members. In the summer we arrange a few day trips to places of interest we like.

When and Where

8pm Thursdays from Thursday 17th September 2009

Crowmarsh Recreation Hall (click here for a location map)

This is located on the recreation ground situated down a short unmade lane which is on the left hand side of the road about 100 yards further towards Crowmarsh once over the bridge from Wallingford. It is a brand new recreation hall and is a most attractive modern building with provision for all those essentials like tea and coffee etc. To clarify further the lane is found between the tyre distributor and Wilders farm equipment yard, and it is sign posted on the main road cross ahead.

Thursday 11th March – Monthly Competition – ‘Letter ‘V’ for members who may enter up to two images in each class, black and white prints, colour prints and digital images. Visitors are welcome to come and listen to the judges comments.

Thursday 18th March – Darrell Godliman returns to his old club (he has moved away) with another of his interesting presentations ‘Architecture Ancient to Modern’. A great opportunity to see Darrell’s superb Architectural images.

Thursday 25th March – Dr. Hazel Rossotti - “From P.O.P to H.C.B the slow development of an Amateur Photographer”. This evening will be a light-hearted view of Hazel’s photographic activities, largely in black and white. One of our members visited Dr Rossotti’s exhibition at St. Anne’s College, Oxford and was greatly impressed – hence an invitation for her to come and talk to club members.
